Outstanding Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica Member Named FLAIR Student of the Year
The Foreign Language Alliance for International Rapport (FLAIR) has chosen Peyton Randall, a Greenbrier High School student, as their overall FLAIR student of the year for 2026. The 41 year old academic alliance supported by Augusta University chooses one student from the exemplary students nominated from schools in the Central Savannah River Area each year to represent the alliance as their overall student of the year. Peyton was nominated by her Spanish teacher, Marisol García-Mitchell, and her Sociedad Honoraria Sponsor, Christy Presgrove.
Among the many impressive comments made about Peyton was the following:
"She consistently demonstrates the type of scholarly curiosity and self-direction that is rarely observed at the secondary level. " Peyton studied Spanish through sophmore year in public school and then joint-enrolled at Augusta University to continue those studies, even to very advanced courses, such as Spanish Composition and Spanish for the Medical Profession. Peyton will enter Augusta University in the fall as a double major in Cellular/ Molecular Biology and Spanish after completing a study abroad program in Alcalá de Henares, Spain this summer.
Through her own initiative, Peyton brought cultural awareness and support for fair-trade employment for artisans in Central America at Greenbrier, feeder elementary schools and even her own workplace by promoting The Pulsera Project. Her efforts raised $1127 that will directly support this cause through scholarships, environmental programs, and so much more.
AATSP-GA and Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica congratulates Peyton on her accomplishments thus far and we wish her every encouragement on her path forward.
